The living room sits under a part-coved, part-sloping ceiling with downlights, a feature wall clock and a wood-surround electric fire that gives the room a real focal point. There's a navy two-seater sofa and a soft tan recliner armchair, a pair of nesting tables on a patterned rug, and a wall-mounted TV. A second sitting area at the top of the stairs has another comfortable recliner, a writing desk by the window and a tall houseplant — a quiet spot to read or work. The kitchen is well fitted in grey units with an oak trim, a built-in oven and hob, a washing machine and a small dining table with four blue chairs.

Where you'll sleep

The apartment has two bedrooms and sleeps three. One double has a metal-framed bed dressed in tartan, flanked by bedside tables and lamps, with towels left out; the second bedroom is a calm space with a single bed, a soft floral duvet, a chest of drawers, a bedside lamp and a hydrangea print on the wall. The shower room is practical and bright, with a large enclosure, WC and basin and a window letting in plenty of daylight.
