Kevara Self-Catering is a modern, light-filled space in Finstown, built and finished to a high standard. It's compact by design — everything you need, nothing you don't — and made for two to slow right down.

Inside

The layout is open-plan, with the living area and kitchen flowing together so the whole space feels generous despite its size. The kitchen is fully fitted for self-catering, and there's a washer to hand. It's the kind of place where you can cook, eat and relax without ever feeling boxed in.

Where you'll sleep

The double bedroom is restful and current — a grey upholstered headboard, soft floral bedding, fresh towels folded on the bed and a wall light either side. The bathroom is bright and modern, with a glittering dark worktop over a clean white vanity, a WC and a window that lets the daylight in; a second WC adds a touch of practicality.

Step outside

There's a garden and parking right there — exactly what you want after a day in the wind. Settle in under the big Orkney sky with a glass in hand.

The setting

Finstown sits at the heart of the Mainland, which makes it a brilliant base: you're a short drive from the standing stones, chambered cairns and the cathedral town of Kirkwall, with the west coast just as close.
