Lindisfarne Self Catering

Lindisfarne is a comfortable self-catering home at Navershaw, just outside Stromness, set in a semi-detached house with a stone-and-render front and a balustraded terrace looking out over open countryside. There's a big private parking area, so arriving with bags and bikes is no bother. It's a roomy, family-friendly base with a hint of the Hoy hills in the view.

The living room is relaxed and homely, with a generous grey corner sofa, a soft rug underfoot and framed sketches on the wall. The kitchen is the real treat, freshly fitted with shaker units, wood worktops and a breakfast bar with stools, plus pendant lighting and even an air-conditioning unit for those rare warm spells. There's WiFi and a TV, and a washing machine for longer stays.

Where you'll sleep

Two bedrooms sleep up to four, making it a good fit for a family or two couples. The shower room is modern and bright, with a corner shower, heated towel rail and a window that catches the hills beyond.

Step outside

The raised terrace at the front is a fine spot to sit out, and the open setting means big skies and a sea-tinged view across to the hills.

You're minutes from Stromness and its harbour, the Pier Arts Centre and the Scrabster ferry. The west mainland's beaches, the Brough of Birsay and the Neolithic heart of Orkney are all within easy reach by car.
