Inside

The living room keeps things simple and comfortable — a black leather sofa, a wall-mounted TV, a teal feature wall and patio doors that let the light in. Upstairs there's a second sitting and dining space tucked under the eaves, with a wood dining table, exposed brick and a window framing the water. The kitchen is compact and practical, with fitted units, a washing machine and a window over the worktop.

Where you'll sleep

Across the three bedrooms there's room for four guests. One double sits against a deep green wall with pine bedside tables and a window looking out over the fields. The bathroom is finished in soft blue with a corner shower, WC and basin, and a small window for natural light.

Step outside

The covered porch is a handy spot to sit out of the wind, and the upstairs window looks out across the bay — a real sense of being beside the sea here on Burray.

The setting

Burray is linked to the Mainland by the Churchill Barriers, so you get the quiet of a small island while staying connected to the rest of Orkney. The beaches and the Italian Chapel are within easy reach.
