The Jet Nest

The Jet Nest is a homely apartment on Kirklands Road in Kirkwall, an easy walk from the town centre. It has a friendly, personal feel from the moment you step in, with cheerful touches and everything set up for a comfortable stay.

Inside

The living room is welcoming, with a grey corner sofa, a nest of marble-topped tables on a soft round rug, and a large wall-mounted TV. A decorative ceiling light, patterned wallpaper feature wall and a lava lamp in the corner give it character, and the window keeps the room light. The separate dining room has a white pedestal table with four upholstered chairs, fresh flowers and a striking calla-lily canvas — a proper space for sitting down together. The galley kitchen runs the length of one wall with an electric cooker, plenty of worktop, a toaster and a glazed door through to the rear.

Where you'll sleep

The apartment has one bedroom but sleeps four, with the corner sofa giving extra sleeping space. There's also a study area set up with a desk, an ergonomic office chair and a landscape painting — handy if you need to get a little work done. A carpeted staircase links the floors.

Step outside

There's a garden to the property, giving you a bit of outdoor space to enjoy on a fine day.

You're well placed in Kirkwall here, with St Magnus Cathedral, the harbour and the town's shops and eateries all close by, and the airport and ferry links a short drive for heading out to the wider isles.
