The Reid Hall

The Reid Hall is a handsome converted stone building at Pierowall on Westray, standing in its own grassy grounds with a dry-stone wall and the sea just beyond. The slate-roofed former hall has been turned into a characterful, spacious place to stay.

Rooms & comfort

The bedrooms are bright and traditional, with pine-framed beds, crisp white linen and stripped wooden floors, set against soft-painted and panelled walls. Both look out over the surrounding fields. The lounge is generous and high-ceilinged, with cream sofas and an armchair gathered around a rug, a display cabinet in the corner and tall windows dressed in floral curtains letting the light flood in.

The location

Pierowall is the main village on Westray, one of Orkney's northern isles, reached by ferry from the Mainland. The setting is wonderfully quiet, with the coast on the doorstep, sandy beaches nearby and some of the best birdwatching in Orkney close at hand.
