The Shore

The Shore sits on the harbourfront in Kirkwall, a solid stone building on a wide flagstone forecourt with its name carved above the door. A chalkboard by the entrance promises free Wi-Fi, local ales and a warm welcome — and that is pretty much the measure of the place, a friendly waterside hotel within a few steps of the water.
