VitaVer is a modern white house at Burray, set right by the water with views out over the bay and a boat moored just offshore. It is a bright, recently built home run as a bed and breakfast, with plenty of space inside and a generous gravel drive — handy if you have arrived with bikes on the back of the car.

Rooms & comfort

The interior is light and airy, built around a lovely open-plan living and dining space under a high vaulted ceiling with skylights. Deep green leather sofas gather around a coffee table, and there is a proper dining table where a sociable breakfast is laid out each morning. A handsome oak staircase leads up to the bedrooms, and the bathrooms are crisp and white with heated towel rails. Everything feels fresh, warm and well looked after.

The location

Burray sits on the southern isles, joined to the Mainland by the Churchill Barriers, so you have a peaceful waterside setting with the rest of Orkney just a short drive away — the Italian Chapel is close by, and Kirkwall is an easy run north.

Breakfast is included and there is a sea view, free Wi-Fi, a TV, on-site parking and a garden, plus a kitchen, washer and family-friendly space — useful touches that give you room to settle in. The setting by the water is genuinely lovely at any time of day.
